...pretty basic question, I know. However, I've had barriers thrown up at every turn. I've been doing some reading to familiarize myself with this massive amount of information. I'm using OpenPort 2.0 to log on my 2009 Legacy GT 5MT, I have the latest EcuFlash beta, and the sample cfglog.txt file that I dug out of the EcuFlash logging directory (attached). I pulled a couple test logs last night (also attached).

Now, I realize there are a couple of "automated" ways to create log configuration files; first, the online utility, but that hasn't worked in the few weeks I've been trying to access it. Second, there is the standalone, downloadable "Logcfg Creator," but each time I open that, I get an error that says "Couldn't find romraider settings file in C:\Program Files\Romraider\settings.xml." Now, I've downloaded the latest ECU definitions, but I don't know what the settings.xml file is & haven't seen it anywhere. Is it simply the ECU definitions XML file renamed & put in the Romraider directory?

I'd love to have a parameter list, but with all the searching I've done, I can't find one. I'd expect to see a list in a format similar to what's in the logcfg file:
Code:
paramname = speed
paramid = 0x10
scalingrpn = x,0.621371192,*

...where the paramid is specified, with some reference to what it is & how to scale it. Does such a list exist?

TIA

Everything you need is in the logger.xml file.
The easiest way to identify what your ECU supports is to use RR Logger while connected to the ECU. Hover the cursor over each parameter of interest and you'll get a help message with a 'P#' or 'E#'. It works for switches too, 'S#'. These correspond to the ids in the logger.xml file. For each you are interested in locate the id in the logger.xml file and at the bottom of that parameter section, just before the next parameter definition, you'll find the conversion formula.

To use the standalone app, locate your settings.xml file (RR Logger -> Help -> Debugging Level -> Open Debug Log Location) and copy it to 'C:\Program Files\Romraider\settings.xml' directory, create the directory if you need to.

BTW: the online site is back up.

I had trouble at first getting the downloaded logcfg creator too. I had to setup RomRaider as well before it would work.

For example I had to download definitions and set them up in RomRaider before the logcfg thing would work. So get RomRaider running, set it up like your about to go log, make sure your cable can see data from your ECU then close RomRaider and give your logcfg thing another shot.
