ive attached a boost control log with helix's new rom, the Jully 11 one. I look at it and im not hitting target boost really. and turbo dynamics are all up. What do I do to tune out the boost and get it top hit target boost and hold it? adjust the WGDC?

Hi Colby,
What altitude are you at? I am at sea level here so the wastegate settings are for that.
So you may need to increase your Inital and Max wastage settings.
Do you have any mods to your car and do you have a Performance air filter like K&N or etc?

I am right at sea level as well. I have no mods except a turbosmart dual port bov. Stock air filter
What do you reccomend I raise the wastegate to based on the log? The primary wastegate cycle + the turbo dynamics? I have also seen examples of people adjusting the WG Arm like 2 turns to improve reaching target boost on our turbo

Do another log of ONLY: RPM, load, throttle opening %, primary wastegate, manifold pressure and vechicle speed (KPH) and post it up here and i'll have a look at it.
Make sure you do about 3 runs on the log on a flat road and in 3rd gear and WOT from 2000rpm - 6000rpm.
This will let us look at the RPM vs boost vs wastegate.
I'll take a log from my car and post it as well so we can compare.

here is a log from my car on the last rom i posted. Attachment: Boost is slighty off 15psi target and isn't hitting targets at high rpm as well.

Hey guys, I am Bo, I have several Subarus and am new to the OS tuning game.. I recently purchased my gf an 08 usdm wrx and I am wanting to flash it stage 1. I own all apple products and the lap top I bought to run rom raider and ECUFLASH is windows 7.. I have a new windows xp laptop being shipped.. In the meantime since I cant run rom raider is the stage 1 safe to load onto her car without changing anything? You guys are mentioning Australia, me being in the US and at 1500 feet above sea level is that changing anything?
Thanks for your time.

Hi Bo,
Take a flash of your rom and post it up here so i can check to see if it is the same model ecu. If it is the same model the maps in the last rom i posted should work fine on your car in the US, just make sure you are using good fuel.

It is possible to copy over the relevant maps though or adjust accordingly

Zero out your WGDC and then retune from there using your existing boost targets as a reference.
Should spool faster as well so expect wastegate base pressure(1.6bar absolute) settings to have minimal changes, with anything above that needing a retune, then rescale for lower RPM due to earlier boost threshold.
Log: RPM, WGDC, Target Manifold Absolute, Actual Manifold Absolute and Turbo dynamics correction etc.

Super impressed with your efforts and comments. Unfortunately I'm very much a novice on a steep learning curve (2009 WRX Cal ID AZ1G400W) I dont think definitions are available for mine but there is plenty of time for that. Have you by chance got a 3rd gear pull wot, I would like to get an idea what some good/tidy plots look like. I do some some hillclimb and autocross and think maybe it's time for a small tune (BTW I am in Gordon near Ballarat)

the log i posted a few posts ago has a 3rd gear wot pull in the middle, from row 19 to 78. You should be able log the same things i did in that log and then compare you're pulls. here is a screen cap of the dyno plot from the log using airboy's spreadsheet: Attachment:

Thanks for that, I will duplicate your log, for comparison. My log certainly makes little sense to me. car std except no rear mufflers (2009 sedan) ecu not reset. I need to read a lot.
