Well,
It seems that these are starting to trickle into customers hands. And with that comes the want to get cracking into the ECU. I have a friend with a SWP 2014 FXT, and hes looking to help the OS community get going on the new generation of ECUs. He is currently sourcing a Tactrix at my request and Ill be working with him to try and get the ECU read.
Not sure if it will even work (betting that it wont) but wanted to get into touch with the gurus on here to get the conversation going, and possibly start getting some work done on getting the ROM off the ECU for disassembly.
He has a pretty good electrical analysis background, so pulling the ECU and possibly even having to ground pins / attempt to bootstrap the ECU may be possible (if hes comfortable doing that to the brand new car!!!!)
I think this is the correct forum, but if it isnt I apologize!

This is the correct place. If you are afraid to brick your ecu we can do this for you all together..

Its not my ECU its my buddies. I am a computer engineer, so I would be fairly confident in just being able to open up the ecu barring anything crazy like it being welded shut.
I have emailed him to see if he was willing to open it up for pictures.

I know a lot of oem's are going to the newer "hack proof" ecu. You can access the image through use of both k and L lines but I'm not sure if it can be done through obd2 port. I have seen some can access through obd and some through a bench. I can tell you that bench tuning an ecu just down right sux. There seems to be more hacking through k and l through obd2 in the chinese chip tuning market lately. If its anything like what's used in the brz, it can be done through the obd2 easily. But I see a big change in oem ecu technology in the coming years that will make tuning through obd2 port all but null on a large part of the market. The oem's are seeing that a lot of roms are being hacked through obd2 and they are losing money on warranty work because of it. Its common knowledge that the oem's are to more hack proof ecu's. And, hack proof ecu's will get better and being more hack proof as years go by.
