I have been seeing duplicate times in my logs often with the same data sometimes different data. More recently it's become very constantly a problem. I also see random extreme values once in awhile like 26psi of boost at 2,200 rpm. Any ideas? Attachment: romraiderlog_20120320_162942.csv

What ECU and what hardware are you using?

I figure it was an STi due to the sample rate, just wanted to confirm. At the moment I don't know what this is. Running the Logger in TRACE mode, (Help Debug menu) and sending in the resulting rr_system.log file (delete the old one first) may help me.

I find this when I'm logging a cruise for tuning CL fueling when just a few parameters are logged. I figured it had to do with the sample rate being so high (50+ samples per second) in fast polling. 2008 Legacy spec.B, OpenPort 2.0, RomRaider 0.5.4b RC1, ECU Flash beta drivers. I'll send in the log next time I do one.

I've done a few logs now in trace mode and cleaned out the rr_system.log before logging. Attachment: rr_system.log Attachment: romraiderlog_20120325_093242.csv Attachment: romraiderlog_20120325_134021.csv Attachment: romraiderlog_20120326_123322.csv Thanks for your help.

I looked at the system and data logs and there's nothing to indicate why you see multiple entries. The system log is nice and clean. The logger only writes a new line of data when there's a response from the ECU. It is hard to imagine that you'd get two responses in less than a mill-second. The serial data speed would not allow it. So the only thing that comes to mind is something that is causing data to buffer before the Logger can read it. How's the CPU usage while logging? Any other processes running that could be bogging the system a bit?

Thanks for taking a look. The CPU runs at 90-100 percent when logging. I don't believe any other processes are interfering since I have a shortcut to kill any unessential processes when logging. Do you think I should try logging to my flash-drive maybe the transfer rate will be better?

That's awfully high CPU load. You could be experiencing issues because of that. The hard drive should be faster than a USB drive. That vintage of computer probably only has USB1.1 which is 12Mbps (slow) compared to a hard drive. Are you using anti-virus too?

Well I have a 2 USB port PCMCIA card, the 4GB flash drive is working great for Ready Boost so I thought it might be faster. Microsoft Security Essentials is one of the Services I kill when it goes into tuning mode. When it's not logging to file but just reading the data CPU usage is like maybe 20%.

Maybe resource usage is pushed up based on the type of device you write the logs to. Make sure you set the Debug Level to INFO to reduce the system logging. I should make a level that turns all system logging off too. That CPU usage is typical of what I see on my Atom Z550 processor at 20 queries/sec. But I don't kill any other processes, MSE is running.

Figured I'd chime in on this. Been noticing this as well, hence why I changed to standalone... ill post my logs when home to give a visual, but get repeat.time stamps and out of order rpm logs as well. Concern is that if that data is off, what else is?

as noted, the log.
overall my concern is, if some things are off, does that mean we need to ignore some of the data as false? if it is still all valid, how do we properly re-arrange the data so we know what values truely come first? or, is there a way to force it to go through the next cycle instead of getting a second or third sample of a single value per rotation? doesn't make sense to me why this is not the case in the first place

You haven't provided much information about your setup. What computer? Does this happen all the time, even cruising? How's the CPU usage? Please provide the rr_system.log as well.

Maybe you guys can try this version out and see how it works. I made some changes due to the high data rate of the AEM X-Wifi. Download this beta version. Un-install your current RomRaider application first.
