I cannot find out where to put these to make the logger happy I have tried everywhere. The instructions say to put in RomRaider installation directory but where is that?

It's OS dependent and is chosen by you during installation.
The defaults are:
32bit: "C:\Program Files\RomRaider\"
64bit: "C:\Program Files (x86)\RomRaider\"
Linux: "/home/<user>/RomRaider/"
Mac: "/Users/<user>/RomRaider/"

Bumping an old thread but I have RR installed at it's default location and downloaded all three .xml files, unzipped and placed them in the install directory. When starting the logger, RR says the "Cars definition file not found" and suggests I go online to download it. It also says the Logger definition not configured and I download it.

Any idea why going through settings>Logger Definition Location does not work?

Windows 7 64bit
Java is current
RR in default directory

Thanks in advance.

Follow the instructions on the Cars def post.

Set the Logger to the appropriate Logger def file you downloaded, it does not need to be in the RR install dir. Put it (and any ECU defs) in your user directory.

Just FYI mac is "/Users/<user>/RomRaider/" at least in 10.6.8 OS X it is, upper case U on Users too. Quite annoying, /home/ is used for something else, so you can't even symlink it.
