2008 sti. I flashed the wrong year map (2011), I know !! the Ecu stopped the download halfway "exiting" the map. I reflash my map XPT stage1 to be sure.
after reflashing, I went out for a ride, just to check, on a fast road close to my place and the car started to "cut power" at high rpm like if it was "red line", I immediately slow down 40 30 to 5 mpg, "the cut" happen few times more again and the car just shut down.... lock light (differential) and Sport mode light are flashing and the car is not starting.
I try to read or write with ECUflash but I am getting " SSM2 init/interface close/interface close"...
Is this could be a relay fault?

It's very odd that it was running at one point on the same ROM image.

Unless there is some other EEPROM that was corrupted while running, or some section in RAM is kept alive during resets, I would think a hard reset would clear out whatever issue its having.
