Hi Romraiders. I have a 2011 STI (Australian version) ECU ID 7442594007. CAL ID AZIJ500G and when I connect ECUFlash my car isn't on the list. I thought I had the latest defs but obviously not......

Save the EcuFlash file into the EcuFlash rommetadata/subaru/impreza STi folder

Still no luck unfortunately. I can see my car in the rommetadat/subaru/impreza sti but
it's still not showing. Should the updated base maps be 16 or 32 bit?

The updated 32bitbase.xml file from the bottom of this thread: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3808

Yes I downloaded that one and placed it into the base fold as suggested but still not showing the car?

What error message are you receiving? Unknown rom?

When you say "list" it sounds like you might be referring to the flash methods for reading/flashing ROMs. If so the 2011 should use SubaruCAN or something like that.

No error message it's just that my car is not showing up on the initial drop down list after I have connected
to the ECU.

What is in the list currently? I assume you're trying to read/dump the current ROM?

Correct. I am trying to download the ROM. The vehicle list only goes to 2007 models. My car is an Australian spec 2011 STi. The weird thing is I have updated the ECU defs and added my car to the STi Impreza folder and can see it at the bottom of the folder but it isn't populating through to the drop down list when I first connect to the ECU so I can't go any further.

Sounds like flash methods, which is separate from definitions. Definitions are only used for reading rom images on hard drive.

If there's anything listed as "Subaru CAN", that should work. If not, post the full list. It's been a while since I've used the read/dump feature.

Yes there is a Subaru CAN choice on the list. I didn't try it as it thought it may affect the download. I'll give it a go and also write a list of the cars listed. Is there another way I should be updating the vehicle list?

Cool, that will do it  Most/all 2007-2008 and older vehicles use the Subaru CAN method. That list is hard coded into the ECUFlash binary, no way to change it, but no need to until subaru makes changes to the ecu hardware :)

Cheers Merp. Thank you very much for your help. I'll try a download tonight using the CAN choice and see how I go.

Correct, your CAN is a Subaru DBW CAN vehicle :)
