Background

This tune was originally made for the XO2 Racing FMIC kit for the Subaru Legacy GT. See thread here for details http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74489. This tune is based on a 2006 LGT 5MT. It has also been tested on a 2005 LGT 5MT. You will need to copy the tables to your stock rom using enginuity. Unfortunately, the FMIC kit has fitment issues but it does appear to perform well.

For 3D tables, select the entire table and paste.

For 2D tables, be aware that the first row is offset by one cell. Make sure you select the entire table and paste into enginuity.

For 2005 stock roms later than version 521 and for all 2006 stock roms, there is a WGDC time delay that needs to be addressed to get full boost. Make sure that you have the ROM Defs later than September 8, 2008. Activate WGDC fix.

Requirements:

Must use enginuity defs from Setpember 8, 2008 or later.
Must have XO2 Racing FMIC or equivalent FMIC.
Must have full turboback. This tune is set up for catless downpipe. Catted downpipe may need to be tweaked slightly.
    Must have catless uppipe.
K&N Intake highly recommended. Any other intake will need to have the MAF scale completely retuned. SPT intake is NOT allowed with this tune due to massive MAF oscillations at high boost and low rpm.
Must have WBO2. All intakes have some variations so you will need to adjust the MAF scale accordingly.
BOV/BPV - stock or fully recirculating BOV highly recommended. This tune has been used with Greddy Type S and TurboXS H34 BPV.
All other hardware must be stock (oem 2 port bcs, oem restrictor pill, oem actuator, oem injectors, etc...).

Notes:

This tune was done between 45F and 70F. Boost control outside this temperature range may need slight adjustements to WGDC by IAT table. Not a big deal. Just do a log in 3rd gear from 2000 to 4000 rpm at various temperatures and adjust table as required.

This tune was done at sealevel. No adjustments were made for higher altitude. It should still work, but be prepared to make adjustments to the WGDC by atmospheric pressure table.

The AFR table was set up for ACN 91 octane winter blend gasoline. It is fairly conservative considering that the tune is for FMIC equipped car. Feel free to lean out the AFR table using your WBO2 if you are comfortable with a leaner mixture for your type of fuel.

Boost control was setup for all gears. One of the earlier iterations was logged in 5th gear starting from 2000 rpm. Boost control was smooth and leveled off smoothly at target boost. However, the MAFv and MAFg oscillated at 2700 rpm due to really high load and low rpm. The oscillation is very localized at 2700 rpm. The MAFg oscillated from 100 g/s to 150 g/s to 100 g/s to 150 g/s. I attribute this air surging to the short ram design and the deletion of the Helmholz resonator. The air surging can cause some minor knock at 2700 rpm. I do not recommend driving at WOT in 5th gear between 2000 and 2500 rpm for more than 1 second. You should downshift. Driving at WOT in 5th gear above 2500 rpm is not a problem. If you start your run at 2500 rpm, the engine will be past 2700 rpm by the time the boost is high enough to cause any problems.

Due to slight mechanical differences from one car or another, you will most likely need to tweak the WGDC and/or timing. when adjusting initial and max WGDC, make sure that the difference between the max WGDC and initial WGDC is constant or monotonically decreasing as rpm increases.

Here are some boost profiles of this tune on a 2006 catless 5MT.

REVISION 03: The tip-in table was from the previous DEFS. This tip-in table was meant to try to adjust for the larger volume of the FMIC but it didn't work that well. The delta pressure doesn't really change across the throttle. It's the volume that changes so duration change is necessary. When the next romraider defs come out, I'll see if this can be improved.

Just an FYI there are no fitment issues what so ever in comparison to any other LGT FMIC kit. The only difference is you will have to add your own BOV adapter piece to the TB side piping and possibly add your own mounting supports.

My setup:

93 Octane gas

Xo2 FMIC
Greddy RS BOV (100% Recirc)
Typhoon Intake
Stock Gutted DP (1st cat only)
Stock Gutted Up
Xo2 Mid and Y pipes
Magnaflow fufflers

I am running MickeyD's map and the car is running great..almost no knock and pretty smooth.

I think there is room for a little more improvement but I am a complete noob.

Here are my latest Logs:

Temp about 60 degrees
Atmospheric pressure was at 14.75 (I think)

Here is my first 3rd gear run:
http://www.box.net/shared/cg735jvyti

Here is my second 3rd gear run:
http://www.box.net/shared/m1qj2iimat

Here is my Tune:
http://www.box.net/shared/06mze7ettf

I am looking for some input on how I could improve on the tune.

Thanks!

Looks good.

It looks like you overshot boost a little bit at 3200 rpm.

It also looks like you can push some more air between 3900 and 6000 rpm.

I have a better way of controlling boost. If you want me to help you tune this one, start a new thread in the general tuning forum. I think it might take 3 to 4 flashes. Can you do a 3rd gear log starting from 2000 rpm and a 4th gear log from 2000 to 4000 rpm? Also, do a learning view.

Is the Throttle Tip-In Enrichment row supposed to be x.xxx and not xxxx? Also should start with this map - maf scale or Stg1?

Mod list:

OEM catless UP
AVO catted DP
GFB BOV Full recalculate
OEM TMIC with Epoxy on end tank tabs
Perrin Crank Pulley

LC1
EGT
Knock light
Boost Gauge

It'll paste into romraider correctly. That's just how excel views it.

Your mod list doesn't match this mod list so you shouldn't use it. This map requires a FMIC and K&N intake which are significant differences.

Try the other stage 2 map that thorne posted and adjust from there.

Ok so I assume that it shouldn't matter much that his tune is for an auto? What about fuel? I will be running CA 91. Sorry about the questions. I just want to be on the safe side since I don't see anything for fuel in the notes for that tune.

It doesn't matter because he didn't push it. With the auto, you can run boost control more aggressively but he didn't do that.

All base maps will need to be adjusted. Log 3rd gear at near 70% constant throttle then repeat at 100% constant throttle. Adjust timing as needed.

The fueling on all these base maps are conservative as long as the intake is matched.

Make sure you always use your own rom. You can cut and paste tables, but the rom you start from should be your stock rom.

Changed boost cut to units of absolute pressure to match latest defs.

Code:
   0   1.24   2.48   3.71   4.95   6.19   7.43   8.66   9.9
-100   -75   -50   25   0   0   0   0   0

Should it really be positive 25 @ 3.71 in the Tip In table or negative 25?

It should be negative.

Cool thanks!

Looked kinda odd to me so I figured I'd ask since I haven't tuned for an FMIC before.
