yeah i noticed that it was already at 14.7 while cruising. what i meant by more boost and more timing was the tune im looking at has higher boost with more advance, he is running a bigger turbo so i know we cant run more boost but there has to be some room for improvement in the ignition timing.

I found that other map on here.

What ive done so far is abit more advance but only in the 2.54+ G range and from 2000 rpm on. Ive done acouple pulls and only got abit of knock when i planted my foot from 1500rpm in 3rd. and then the knock disappeared once the revs got up.

ive lowered boost a little at requested torque 100 from about 2000 to 3600 rpm and advanced abit of timing in the low load ranges for freeway cruising in the primary cruise ignition timing. im unsure as to why there is a primary cruise and non-cruise. I did that for fuel economy but i havnt done much testing on that yet.

Ive redone my map quite abit after having a look through some 09 maps as you said. ive lowered the boost at requested torque quite abit and my fuel economy has droped from about 8 to 9 l/100 to sitting in the 6 to 7l/100 range while cruising.

I also lowered the cl/ol delay to 0 and thats made the car drive alot better feels alot less lagy when you put your foot down.

Ive also changed the ignition timing i started again, so fair ive only increased it by 1 deg at max load and got no knock so im gonna continue working on that, but lowering the boost for cruising is defiantly worth it. ill upload the new map soon its on my laptop.

Hi,

After looking at another to and seeing their ignition timing and their fueling I'm working on a revised Rom now. Already feels better than the last. I don't know how they figure They are going toget 16.7psi on a stock air intake though! I could see in their Rom that aftermarket intake helps boost a LOT!

Might have to get one of those cosworth ones...

Hey,

I have used their 10.8 afr as a ref and supped my afr's. I had a bit more aggressive timing than them so I have retuned my maps a bit. Their dbw tables are really aggressive and rough as well. I'll post my new one up soon. After this if you try to get any more power with out adding hardware its going to be dangerous. Will buy intake soon and make tune for it. You can see from the ref Rom that intake let you make a lot more boost.

You keen on buying same one then we can use the same maf scale and etc?

going to get the cosworth one from tuspeed

Sorry for spelling and grammar posting from phone lol!

Hey sorry for the late reply I've been away with work. Yeah I was looking at that cosworth one too. Do you think I need to get a bov running that much boost too? How's your update going?

This applies to anyone with a MY08 2008 WRX.

Here is a newer version of the Stage 1 ROM i run:

The attachment jan2011b.hex is no longer available

Keep in mind this new Map is tuned to run 98RON Fuel at Sea Level, and for Melbourne weather (AVG ambient Temp 23C) The older maps i have posted should not be as dependant on the fuel as these newer ones are.

Check the ECU model when you open a ROM from your car, MY ECU shows as AZ1E400C in RR, if yours is the same then it will be ok.

If it is different then load your own map from your car in RR and then load mine and copy the relevant tables from my map to your stock map and then save your new map and flash it to your car.

The Tables you should copy are:

ALL the Boost Control tables (including Target, Limits, Wastegate and Turbo Dynamics)
Primary open loop fuel
CL to OL delay
ALL the Fueling - AF Correction / Learning tables
Base timing Primary Non-Cruise
Base Timing Reference Non-Cruise(AVCS Related)
Intake Cam Advance Angle Non-Cruise (AVCS)
ALL the Drive-by-Wire Throttle (DBW) tables

Also i recommend changing the Rev Limit to 6500 on and 6450 off, for street driving. I have tuned my car up to 6000Rpm above that this tune is almost stock.

I have just done this with the JuneB3.hex file for my USDM 08 WRX. Is it all set to run with my car now?

can someone look at my log. Its a 08 usdm wrx running 93 octane fuel. Im running the stage 1 power map from helix on page 2 of the thread, i think its the one with the number 5 in it. The only thing i changed was the dbw, i changed it back to the stock settings. I did a 3rd gear WOT pull.

Run the new rom i just posted and when you log make sure your iam is back to 1 before you start doing logs. also you are logging a few too many/wrong things. Check out the start of this thread i have gave a few pointers to someone else what to log previously

Just a quick question. I haven't flashed ur new rom yet helix, but I was curious if I would need to rescale the timing tables? I run 93 unleaded and I see u run 98 ron. Would those be pretty equal meaning I wouldn't have to? 93 is the highest u can get around here in US.

I guess I wont really know until I flash it and do a log and see if i have any knock huh?

From what i understand our octane rating is RON and yours is AKI or something 93 AKI = 98 RON so your fine there.

Helix with the MAF tables, would i need to change them as same car same city?

Colby:
93 US octane is the same as 98 RON i'm pretty sure. You should't have any knock i never have any when i log on these tunes.

Chris:
It will work fine with out changing anything.
I have fine tuned my MAF settings a bit so you might want to us the stock maf settings from a stock rom, it wouldn't matter though its only about 2% different at most in some areas.

I had a couple of drag races with a Stock 2011 WRX the other day with this tune and it was a tie both times. Wish i had a VF32 to play with :-)!
