I didn't log it. Seat of the pants dyno recorded it. It was noticably slower after launching, so I assume the ECU was pulling timing.

You really shouldn't post as you did without even logging it to know it occurred. Ppl new to tuning will see your comment and expect it is factual, when infact it was merely a "Seat of the pants" observation.

The motor wasn't knocking, just was slow. I won't put it at the top of my list, but I will go out and log it. It was noticable enough that I didn't bother.

There are many reasons why it could be slower, but without a log to determine exactly, then there is no way of knowning for sure.

As for me, I can definately notice an improvement in speed with the LC patch. Not only does it help with consistant launches, but my largish turbo makes around 8psi on the line before I even take off, which means I am able to make more boost in first then if I didn't use it. This extra boost definately improves my acceleration.

Yeah, I know, you're right. I took it out to the track and logged both "regular" launches and LC launches. ECU was happy with both. I'll edit my posts above...

Either way though, I can't launch the damn car with or without LC...lol

I've been hearing all kinds of reports regarding how much timing the cars can handle.

funny you should say that.

i've been hearing all kinds of reports regarding how many people have busted pistons.

Of course the "problem" with E85 is that it is so knock resistant, which makes the traditional tuning methods of tuning to knock and then pulling back impossible.

With that said, and without reviewing a stock rom before I write this, I'm not running much more timing than the stock flash. And my motor is holding up nicely:)

Really, we need to have a cylinder pressure transducer installed to be sure that peak cylinder pressures are occuring around 14* ATDC.

I'll be interested in seeing the dyno comparison. I know Tim Bailey wrote an article about this a while back...
