First off thanks for RomRaider! My subie and I are very thankful!!

As a software engineer are you open to pull requests to improve the dashboard view?
If needed I can fix a few bugs if that will help improve my credibility :)

The reason is that now unlike a few years ago you can get a fully functional windows tablet for less than a $100.
Which starts to enable romraider -logger into a cool new option for constant engine health monitoring.

-Thx

I would love to help out as well. I currently run RR on my dash mounted tablet. I have a few ideas as well as a few errors that can be fixed.

Ok I did a fork the repro and have been able to get it to build and run.

Here is my first part, no sure if this is something that you would want or not. Let me know!

Really I only see using the logger at this point on a tablet. At least that is my main goal. With the current version of RomRaider I can't use touch, most of the ui components are just too small :(

Here is what I did...
* Added a command line param -logger.touch
* Increased the size of the main UI components so you can actually click them via touch.

I'm in the process of upgrading my subie's turbo (from vf52 on e85 -> TD05+20G+8CM+E85) so I'm way more concerned about engine feedback monitoring. FWIW I actually do log my engine a lot, but making this easier for others is my goal.

* Yes I'm fully aware that upgrading my turbo can bust a ringland, etc...I'd actually love a built motor, just not yet :)

BTW I totally love the new LV - in the past I came across this excellent tool but it didn't work for my car :(

-Thx

Hey dschultz! Happy New Year!!!

Hope all is good, though I'm not an expert in java ui programing happy to submit a pull request to romraider to improve using it on cheaper/smaller/windows tablets.

Let me know, if you'd like this to be part of romraider.

-Thx!

it will be very nice, if the gauge-stile will be also get ahead with this devellopment :)

If someone is able to, the best would be be to have a guage stile like EVOScan / STIScan..

:D

Hi: Happy New Year.
I use a CarPC with a touch display and have also found it's not so touch friendly. I typically use a stylus for the hard to click options. Have you changed the other tool screens too?
Maybe you could push your changes to GitHub when you're finished.

Have you pressed the "Gauge Style" button to see what gauges are available to you?
If not what is the format you are looking for?

What you see is what I changed, happy to push it to github and you can give feedback. I presume you have a good idea on how you want the UI code structured. If my main logger UI changes get pulled in I can do more as needed.

-Thx

Yes I have allready and found the analog style, witch I worked allready.

I like to skale and style the analog displays with other colours, sizes, placement in the window, backround colours etc.
If I choose "options" at any gauge, there are buttons to chance them, but most of them are greyed out and non workable.
If they are working, I think you can style you own dashboard and this will be gread.

I also like a "full screen mod" with only the guages are displayed..

I think this ideas are enough for the first step :)

It has been posted a few times but to no avail; would you be able to look into why "reset data" doesnt reset the visual indicator on the fine/feedback knock monitors?

For instance on those rectangular gauges, if you encounter a knock event the bar will show full green (since max will no be 0.0 and min will be -1.4 or whatever your timing pulled value is). The problem occurs when you reset the data. The gauge will reset the values, but that bar will stay filled (green). It will only be reset when you minimize the program and then maximize it again after resetting the data.

Just picked up a cheap 8" Win8.1 tablet and got RR and EcuFlash working (havent flashed yet but did a compare and it worked fine).

Would love to get this up and running as it would be displayed on my double din HU via HDMI if I wanted to keep the tab hidden, but even with the tab out it would be much easier to see at a glance.
