The base Stage 2 maps that I distributed for free are readily available. Since I have the resources to fine tune the maps I no longer create detuned free maps because of the time involved to do so. If I have time after I've created all of the tuned maps I may go back and so some basic tunes to release but I don't have any timeframes for that at the moment.

I don't think $50-$150 is much for a great base map to start with. It's editable and allows anyone to learn how different tables affect the tune over stock or a posted tune around on the net. I could always charge more but I think it's a fair price for what you get.

The original poster is running my mapping, I'll let him chime in about his experience if he wants.

I wanted to point out I've had IPS in columbus donate me lots of dyno time and even parts to test various tunes all for free just because they thought the idea of Open maps being cool. They've stayed quite late before just to let me finish up testing on a car.

I never doubted your maps. and you used to be heavy into posting maps. I'm going to stop here because I really don't want you to think I'm trashing you.

I do hope you provide some feedback on the 08 rom I post.

I got busy last weekend so did not get timet o tune on the 08. But I should get a street tuning this weekend. This tune will be very mild. Mostly be changing the boost and associated tables .

If you have a WBO2 and if you're willing to log A LOT, I'll help you out.

If you are still interested in tuning an 08 WRX I would be more than willing to acquire the WBO2 and log what ever is needed. I'd also be willing to go to stage 2, stage 2 with a vf40 and stage 2 with a vf40 18g after a blouch upgrade. I already have whats needed except for the 18g upgrade and WBO2. I have an AP but will sell it to do this instead (have a buyer already). I'll do it just to learn and share if you don't mind working with someone totally ignorant of tuning ecu's but has mechanical ability and previous experience with older types of turbo systems.

Sure. PM me your rom. What is your atmospheric pressure and your ambient temperature.

One of the problems that I have found with the 08 LGT is that SOA takes a completely different approach to tuning at cold temperatures.

I will be gone during Thanksgiving week so if you don't hear from me next week, that's the reason.

BTW, I would skip the VF40 and VF40+18G. If you want to stick with the TMIC, I would go with either a VF46 or a VF52. The VF40 has poor reliability. The VF40+18G has too small a hotside for the 18G compressor wheel. Just my $0.02.

Any up-dates on the 08?

XPT has an 08 stage 2 with an E85 map included that sounds very interesting, especialy with premium creeping back up...

surely someone can post a rom of their tune for a 2008 wrx. i run 98 RON (Australian) fuel and would love for someone to post a link to map that would suit my 2008 wrx which is stock. once i have tuned my car i will be posting the rom with logs, after i have tested it.

here is a link to the thread with my factory rom. (unchanged at all)

Holy Hell, what did I start? LOL I hadn't checked this thread in a looong time.

I have nothing but good things to about Braden. He does a great job as is willing to allow me to pester him with newbie questions about my maps. To date I have ran 4 maps on two different cars with great "out of the box" results. I have had to tweak some WGDC and temp compensation tables for my area, but really very minor things. I think he charges a fair price and have benefited from his return customer discount a couple of time. LOL Now all I need is launch control and flat foot shifting.....anybody.

Yeah, go to http://www.xpttuning.com/ and buy one. It's well worth it.
