I've been looking at this trying find the relationship. I know the 02-05 wrx's had an issue with this, but what about the cars that don't.

If you raise your MAF max to say 375 from 300, what does that do for you in terms of MAF scaling?

If there is no relationship, what's the point of this value?

What happens if you're exceeding 300gm/sec?

The 32-bit ECU with the maf limit (maximum) threshold simply caps airflow at that value regardless of the maf scaling table. So, you want to raise it to a high value that you will never hit.

Thanks, does it have anything to do with the way the ecu interpolates the current MAF voltage? Meaning if somehow you manage to go over the 4.6 volts, the ecu is able to interpolate up to that value?

I'm just wondering why stock max is set at 300 and my tune has it set for 375, but the maf scaling on each is only up to 300. Just trying to get an idea for why people do this. Or why pick 375 rather than 400 or 350?

If you exceed the last MAFv value in the maf scaling table, the ECU does not interpolate and uses the last airflow value in the table. The maf limit threshold does nothing but cap the value after MAF comp (IAT) has been applied.

Who knows. Maybe just what they set on most of their tunes, even though it wasn't necessary on your tune.
