Even a stock rom would work, then I can tune from there. The 08 LGT I have, when I DL the rom, ecuflash doesnt know what it is, and romraider wont open it.

So I am thinking that maybe its a newer revision and defs arent out yet maybe?
I was thinking that if I could get ahold of an earlier USDM 08 LGT rom, I can flash that onto my ECU and go from there.

Might you be able to use the 07/08 Forester XT ROM that is currently defined in the newest defs? It is A8DK100I. I thought at one point I had read that FXT/LGT/OXT ROM's were interchangeable (as the drivetrain was identical?).

If so, it's available here.

I would definitely not use a different model's ROM.

Just wait until the next definition update.
