Sorry if this is obvious, is it really just as easy as clamping the standard lm-1 sensor to the tailpipe?

Thanks.

Stupid question probably, but whats the difference between the LC-1 and LM-1?

With the LM-1, it has a hand-control with LCD that displays the WB02 AFR and can log upto 6channels of data. The LM-1 has just been superseeded by the new LM-2.

With the LC-1, you have to connect to a laptop via the serial cable to see the logged wb02 AFR. The LC-1 is basically the LM-1 without the hand-control (ie. sensor, lm-1 module, cables - but no hand-control).

Keep in mind that there will be some latency as well as some error in the measurement itself with the WB02 at the tailpipe.

I use the Innovate tailpipe clamp with great luck. It is a little finicky to clamp onto some mufflers but always works for me in the end.

I initially used an LC-1 that I custom wired to a cigarette lighter adapter. However, keeping all the wires neat and tidy, along with the 9V battery (mandatory when moving the kit around to different cars) was a pain. I sold it and got an LM-1, which is much easier. I took a stainless gun case, the kind with the sectioned foam pieces, and made a custom carrying rig for my gear. It takes all of 5 minutes to hook up to a car.

I've noticed the delay when tuning. It's most noticeable at engine speeds below 4000RPM, above that it's not so bad. I definitely wouldn't use it to tune tip-in or closed loop fueling, that's much better suited to the stock narrowband sensor. It reads very quickly in the front header location!
