Thanks Paul. Will this also allow for logging extended parameters if the ecu id is in the logger defs but not in the ECU defs? Also, will it filter the standard parameters if the ecu id is absent from both?

Yes extended parameters should be available if the logger.xml supports them but there is no ecu def. Yes standard parameters should be filtered based on the ecu init response.

Sorry to hear it still doesn't work for you. What is UAC? User Access Control? Did you try running RomRaider.exe directly as administrator as well?

Yes I've tried that as well. For some reason it just gets "killed" as you put it when I run it direct or even launching inside RR. It seems to launch on the lower left but even with the -fullscreen command I can't see anything happening or see a window with the normal logger.

I am not sure what i am doing wrong, as I can not get this to work at all

I downloaded the 0.5.1b, connected the tatrix cable to the laptop and then plugged it into the obdII port, opened the logger, turned on the car, and got the Unable to send ECU init, unknown ID, unknown ECU error. I tried:
-using the newest Standard Definitions
-using the newest Metric Definitions
-using the new logger4j file
-uninstalled and reinstalled the program
-restarted the computer
-tried having the car running before I started the logger

No success so far, this is on Windows XP. Any suggestions?

Have you installed the latest ECUFlash? It is required, as it has the drivers for the taxtrix/openport cable

I'll reinstall it and double check, but I had downloaded the most recent version when I got it in the mail six days ago. Its just from the openecu.org site right?

Did you download 0.5.1b RC3 from this thread? It is different than what is in the RomRaider download section.

Hey Paul, could you do one minor change to the next release? Make the checkbox "save changes to tables made in debug mode" in the settings menu default to checked? Users can't seem to figure this out, despite being in the FAQ, and it seems every other week someone posts about debug mode tables changes not being made.

Yup, downloaded it from this thread.

Edit: got it working! Reinstalled ECU Flash and made sure the drivers updated properly, and reinstalled RC3 again with definitions. Seems to be working this time just fine, logs properly with the parameters I've been using (11 or 12 parameters) and I just pulled my current map from my ECU to play around with in the editor at work later.

I installed every version I have stored on my computer and found the following results.

RR 0.50 - Logger opens!
RR RC1 - Logger does not open.
RR RC2 - Logger does not open.
RR RC3 - Logger does not open.

I even tried enabling UAC, re-installing as Administrator on all of the other RC's and running as Admin. Nothing worked except for the old 0.50 platform. Was there a significant change into the launching of the logger from 0.50 to the RC's?

Yes there were some changes. I'll go back and review them, I've got an idea what it may be but not 100% sure...
