Hi I have just built a forged EJ257 with an uprated oil pump. It's running well. I'm curious as to what oil pressure readings others are getting with an uprated oil pump?

Cold cruising is 100psi with a cold idle of 60 psi.

Warm idling is 40psi and warm running is 80-85 psi with 90-95 psi at WOT.

Thanks

Sounds about right. My 06 WRX runs about the same. 80-90 PSI cold idle, 90 PSI warm 3k RPM, and 30 PSI warm idle.

257 crank, 257 casings, cosworth mains and ACL race big ends.

figures are in line with mine, although I get slightly more cold pressure but it has a lot to do with oil viscosity and not just mechanical set up

I run 10/60 fully synthetic Millers oil

Cold idle should probably be higher... what oil are you using? What pump?

Cold idle should be very close to the pressure relief pressure, and cold cruising should be at the pressure relief. Seems like your pump has the relief at about 95-100 psi. 40 psi hot idle is ok, but what RPM do you idle at? That makes a big difference.

thanks - I checked again and cold idle is in fact more like 95 straight after start up. The engine was slightly warm when I previously got 60. Idle rpm is set at 750. Using mobile 1 15-50 motorsport formula. Pump is OE subaru with a modified relief valve to prevent sticking
