I am not sure whether it is appropriate to post here but I am in need of a bit of help.

I am not able to 'interface' with a 16bit JDM WRX A4TE000A ecu with Ecuflash 1.38 and a universal mitsubishi/subaru tactrix 1.3 cable.

I am also unable to 'interface' with the above ecu with the new universal 2.0 cable.

However, I am able to interface with the above ecu with a subaru specific 1.3 cable (without the evo white connector) and flash. I have since misplaced my cable and Tactrix does not seem to have listed for sale any more.

I have connected the green connectors as well as the white jumper for 16bit ecu but the message on Ecuflash is that I am unable to interface with the said ecu before the prompt box shows up for confirmation to flash.

Has anyone faced this problem? Is there something wrong with the installation of my EcuFlash 1.38?

Sounds like a driver issue if you are not able to use OP 2.0. Remove all previous installations of ecuflash and all tactrix/openport/ftdi drivers from add/remove programs and then reinstall 1.38.

I 'think' I have installed EcuFlash and the drivers properly. I will remove and re-install again.

I forgot to add that I am able to interface and flash 32 bit ecus with new universal 2.0 and universal 1.3 cable but not 16bit ecu.

Are you sure the ECU does not have an Ecutek flash?

yes absolutely certain is without Ecu*ek as the 16bit ecu was tuned with Romraider before using my old 1.3 subaru specific cable.



I have just uninstalled and re-installed Ecuflash 1.38 and its drivers and was able to 'interface' and flash a 32bit ecu just now with the universal 1.3 cable and will try again with the 16bit ecu car later in the day again.
