You could retune with and without MAF at least to the extent that two configurations on the same day and time match load, final timing, injector pulse, AVCS, etc. I'm not saying that has been done. But it is possible and that would be an interesting set of logs files to browse.

Keep in mind it will cause immediate changes in engine load, which trickles down throughout the ECU. Engine load is used everywhere. Plus, if timing advance is turned off there will be an even bigger change in final timing.
