I'm running into a problem that is becoming an issue while auto-x ing
Basically the problem is that while I try to keep the trans in "1" for the tight sections, approaching the rev-limiter causes the TCU to detect this rpm level and want to shift into 2nd. The problem is, for example, coming out of a short straight away at WOT into a switchback turn. The TCU, as soon as I get into the corner has automatically shifted into 2nd, even thought the selector is still in 1. This causes massive lag as the trans. is trying to start out in 2nd.

What I'm getting at is, if I raise the rev limit, would this also effect the shift transition?
I realize that when I'm in 1st and approach the rev limit, the trans. shifting into 2nd, does so as a protection mechanism. The problem is that it really kills time to shift back down to 1st.
Anybody got any ideas? This is a shot in the dark I know. If I'm not mistaken, no one has developed and means of editing the TCU. Am I correct in that?

Not much has been done with the interaction between the TCM and the ECU, but I don't think raising the rev limit is going to do anything as far as shift logic is concerned.

just keep it in 1st, i have done this with mine, raise the rev limit a bit..

at least in my 04 it wont shift to 2nd from 1st, it will just redline and make funny sounds(bbbhhraaaa bhrreeaaa bhreeaa)

you can get kinda fast in 1st ;-)
