RomRaider

I originally bought a cheap OBDII usb cable from ebay, which works fine with RomRaider. However, I recently installed a CarPC in my car, and upgraded to an ELM327 device. However I can't get RomRaider to connect using that device. I can connect to the car using PCMScan, or Centrafuse's OBD plugin, but RR refuses.

Any ideas?

that's not enough info to go on. Is the carpc the same pc you were using before with the ebay cable? What drivers did you install? What OS? Do you have the latest version of java installed on this carpc? Have you tried all the available com ports from within romraider's logger? Does the old cable work on the new carpc (assuming it is new and not the same pc you used before)?

try loading the drivers for the elm cable on the old pc and try using the elm cable on it with RomRaider. That way you can narrow it down to a cable/driver issue.

The Elm cable won't work with any program not designed for it. It requires that the program send it Elm-specific commands. OBD-II protocol support is contained within the cable and it doesn't support SSM-II protocol.
