I got my Perrin 816s installed today. I have to say it's an easier job than it looks. I think them being side feeds makes it less involved.

I used Freon's recommendation of 770 scalar with stock latencies (Cobb's spreadsheet lists stock values for these injectors too). I also adjusted the tip in table using the calculation "old scalar / new scalar = percentage multiplier for the whole table".

I have only done eyeball logs at idle and around the block so far. At idle it has positive correction ~ 16, but it gets better as I drive around. So I am assuming it's a latency issue? It drives ok with no significant popping in the exhaust so I think it's close.

I tried getting a wideband log last night, but when I got my LC-1 set up it was magically broken. It worked last time I used it and will have to see if I have any old logs with it. But last night in LogWorks it worked for a while, then I got a "heater out of range" error, then "can't connect / no data stream" error. I am guessing / hoping the sensor is toast.

So I am off to get more logs, minus wideband input for the time being.

Do you have flow sheets?

Your latency is not stock.

Yes the flow test results are back in this thread:

topic2922.html

With the correction at idle so bad, I decided to change the latency before I started logging tonight. I used these values (thanks to 06rexwagon on Nasioc) and kept the scalar at 770:

Code:
6.00v   9.00v   12.00v   14.00v   16.00v
5.40    1.89     0.97     0.74     0.53

The idle correction went down to 6-7. We had to leave for dinner at that point so I decided to log the trip. I took CSV's on the way there and did the injector tab graph on the way back.

yeah latency will not be the same as stock.
i recently adjusted my latencies and i posted my process along the way... if you're interested in checking it out then search for threads created by me.
the injector tab is still really new and its not something that they recommend basing your tuning off of too much. rather, use the maf tab to look at your corrections there. adjusting latencies will have the biggest effect on your idle fueling so you can raise/lower your latencies accordingly to try and 'flatten the curve' which you can see an example of in the thread i made which i talked about above.
you dont need a wideband for any of this... i woudnt do any full throttle pulls until you start to get your closed loop fuel in line.

I topped off the gas tank today for consistent logging this coming week. I also ordered a new wideband sensor from O'Rielly (Bosch 17014) for the open loop tuning to come.

I took a couple logs and ran the learning view tool when I got home. I've only been doing part throttle stuff so far, and not played with the MAF tab yet. I have the stock box and am using the stock scale, figuring it's close enough to work from.

I was just going by what Mickey wrote in your thread about the scatter plots.

mickeyd2005 wrote:
This scatter plot should be a tight scatter around a straight line. I have reviewed flow test data from injectors and they all behave very linearly.

If this scatter plot has a wide variance (it's R squared in the excel spreadsheet) such as you see data clustering around two lines, then that means the MAF scale is off.

If your injector latency is off, it will shift the entire line left to right.

If your injector scalar is off, the slope of the line will be off.

You didn't scale your MAF prior to installing the injectors. That's why your scatter is so great.

It doesn't matter.

Look at the logs BEFORE you installed the injectors and compare those. You want to compare by load.

Thanks for your continued input Mickey.

The old logs and graph are here:
topic3152.html

The before and after graphs appear very similar, which is encouraging. I hope work is slow today so I can start comparing the logs. So am I comparing the correction and learning values at the same load points? Which way do I go if they're off?

Good news and bad news: the car is running great, but my LC-1 is borked.

Last night I upped the scalar from 770 to 780, and re-did the tip in table accordingly. It now sounds and feels just like it did before I swapped injectors. The feeling (according to my ultra-precise butt dyno) is less lazy / buffered and more crisp / responsive. I'm attaching some logs I took today.

I ordered a replacement sensor from O'Rielly to test my LC-1 with. For reference, the Bosch 17014 they sell for $56 is an identical replacement for what comes with the LC-1, down to the cable length and numbers stamped on the sensor itself (0 258 007 057). So my old sensor is probably ok, and there is something wrong with my controller. I'm very glad they let me return the new sensor. Now I just need to decide what to do for a new wideband arrangement.

FYI.

Amazon sells the sensor for less. $51 plus free shipping and many people don't have to pay sales tax. Amazon used to sell it for $45. It's crazy that SOA charges so much for the 4 wire denso when the Bosch 5 wire is so inexpensive.

I had to fill up last night and calculated my mileage for this tank. It came to 20.65, right in line with what I was getting before the swap.

I do believe it's time to move on to the turbo swap!
