Just wondering if there are metric defs available for the new version of RomRaider. I downloaded the latest defs from the stickies in this forum, but when I go to use them, the file sizes are smaller and the editted dates are much earlier than the ones that came with 0.5.0b, and the ones that came with the software are all standard units. Is there any harm to running the last version of the metric defs for 0.4.1b? Being Canadian, I don't speak pounds, inches, and miles.

The ECU defs that ship with the RomRaider 0.5.0b are identical to the standard def download (0.8.0b). The logger defs (0.3.2b) are also the same (unless Kascade changed something I'm not aware of) except that the logger defs with 0.5.0b have more whitespace which resulted in a large file.
Bottom line, you can use the metric 0.8.0b ecu defs and the metric 0.3.2b logger defs with 0.5.0b without any issue or loss of functionality.

I suppose this is my fault. When I automated the installer build I wanted to include a definition file, so I put in the latest I had as a placeholder. I can speak grams and meters as well as pounds and miles, but my car, being US market, is only fluent in the latter.
I'd like to get the defs into a separate subdirectory where they can be more easily managed without cluttering up the root directory and suggested this to kascade, but he didn't want to risk delay on the now-posted release. Since he was doing the heavy lifting, so to speak, it was his call. It's a low-priority task, adding a little polish, but no new features or functionality.

What would be cool and probably not too hard to implement would be to include both standard and metric defs file and allow RomRaider to switch between them as a user setting. That is, there could be a "ecu_defs_imperial.xml", "ecu_defs_metric.xml", "logger_imperial.xml", and "logger_metric.xml".
This would require a change to the ecu definition manager to avoid confusion, though. There could be a default selection in the manager which would only work with the 4 files above (and allow user switching), but this could be disabled for more advanced users who wish to add separate def files as previously.

I just noticed that the logger.xml included with 0.5.0b has a metric setup (i.e. metric unit selections first) for the standard SSM parameters and an imperial setup (i.e. imperial unit selections first) for the extended parameters. Can you replace the logger.xml packaged with 0.5.0b with the standard units 0.3.2b logger defs? Right now users have a metric standard parameters setup with imperial units extended parameter setup which is not consistent. Also it would avoid confusion about the file size.

I plugged in the previous metric defs and everything seems to be working fine. Thanks!
