what matters is the rom revision in respect to the defs and whether you ECU is supported. Even the same year, model, trim and market has mutliple rom revisions. Read the RomRaider FAQ - there is more detail about this there.

yup had a look. so do i get the rom revision details after i plug in my tactrix? the latest version of enginuity and definitions (as well as ecuflash) do support 04 wrx and 05 wrx (for the adm market) however i dont know which one my car classifies under. :S

If you have a windows OS you can also download and use learning view to see if your ECU is currently supported by the current ECU defs. If Learning View says that your ECU is not supported, then it is also not supported by the current ECU defs. In that case, you can pull your rom and submit it to be added to the next ECU/logger def update.
