I live in Northen NJ right by Manhatten. I am very confused by doing all this ecu reading and reflashing stuff. I already have a laptop, and the openport cable but I would really like it if some one could show me how to use it all. Is there any one who would not mind showing me how to do all this stuff if I come to your house?

THANKS

I really don't think there is a need to meet anyone. Even though it may seem confusing it really is simple.

If you haven't installed the drivers for the cables you will need to download them.

To read/flash your ecu you will need to download EcuFlash from http://www.OpenEcu.org or use EcuExplorer from http://www.tari.co.za . I would start off with reading, its easier and you should have a back up of your origonal ecu anyways.

Which ever software you choose you will need to connect the green connectors under the dash on the drivers side before you start the reading/flashing process (this will put the car in diagnostics mode). Open your software of choice and follow the directions (For EcuFlash it should be obvious and with EcuExplorer goto the tools menu).

You can't hurt the ecu by reading so it's a good safe way to learn how to use the tools.

After you read the image off the ecu, you will know how to flash (it's virtually the same except you need the white block jumped).

After you feel you got the idea you will need to add some jumpers or use the a flash block (this is what enables the 12v to be able to flash). Then you will be rdy to flash a modified image.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
