You need to support IEEE 754 float values.

Most of the DBW 32bit ECU axis information and many 2D and 3D maps use this format for encoding values.

I remember reading that thread but I can't find the link now. Can anyone either get me the link or explain to me what is needed? I'm not entirely understanding what's required here..

plain and simple you need a new storagetype which can handle 32bit entries as float numbers. It should be easy to add, all languages have this kind of datatype
