Hi,
there is radiotor fan modes support from 2002 to 2005 but not for 2006 sti. will it be in future definitions? As an idea, by scaling the coolant temp sensor, can we provide radiator fans to open earlier than 96 degrees?

I've briefly messed with trying to determine the radiator fan thresholds for the 32-bit ECU, but it is a PITA. I'll figure it out down the road, I'm sure. I would not rescale ECT.

thanks merchgod. so the ecu uses stock opening and closing cooling temp for fans. isn't it? Also, sorry but what is PITA?

It won't likely be a simple as just a series of coolant temp thresholds (the 16-bit ECU isn't that simple either). The PITA part is just the way it is set up in the ROM that makes it pain to reverse-engineer. That means more time has to be spent on it and I haven't had a chance to do this (if it is were fairly straightforward, I would have added it to the defs already).

no, I'm saying if it was easy for me to determine, I would have added it already. I don't know when or if it will be added in the future. Probably eventually.

Thanks. I see. I hope you find a more time in the future to determine these and many others.

Good news. I actually made progress with radiator fan thresholds for the 32-bit ECU. It will most likely make the next definition update (1-2 months), at least in debug mode.

God bless you Merchgod I am hopefully waiting next definition update. Debug mode means untested but changes can be made. Doesn't it?

have you tried running a cooler thermostat ?
(I guess you are trying to stop it overheating)
Zerosports one dropped the water temps down nicely for me (and oil temp too)
