It sounds like your AFR might not be in the combustible range if you have both fuel (smell) and spark (-BLP-). Perhaps your battery voltage has fallen after sitting out in the cold followed by all the reflashing (and door-open dinging, dome light on, etc.). And maybe your injector latency table is wildly off for your battery's current voltage. If you have a battery charger, then charge your battery over night. (And call me in the morning. )

LOL, thanks Jon. made me smile, after all this drama. Yeah, I've got the charger on it now, and will check it in the morning.. HOPEFULLY, that'll let some of the fuel, etc., possibly dry out in the cyl's with the valves open.. And the battery to charge up.. I was dreading maybe I hit some magic "reflash" count, and the ecu said "no more, beotch."

Luckily for you, 02 WRX ecus are cheap and readily available. So, if your ecu is down, it shouldn't be too expensive. 05 LGT ecu's are expensive, hard to find, and we have to get a dealer to synchronize them to the immobilizer.

Ok, I charged the battery overnight. Verified voltage was 12.9V at the battery. Still no start.
I then married the AP back, loaded map back on, tried. No start, no errors on loading.
So I unmarried the AccessPort, got the message "Please choose a new map to flash to the ECU" which is the message showing it unmarried. Loaded my original RR map on, no start. Everything I've tried, as far as flashing, etc., has never yielded an error or any sort.

I seriously doubt your issue has anything to do with the ECU. I would start looking elsewhere

I just pulled the plugs, and they were dripping with fuel. I've got another set (friggin Iridiums ), disconnected the ECU, cranked over the engine to clear out any standing fuel.. I'm letting it sit, w/o plugs in it, for a few minutes, then I'll start the process of putting them back in. BTW, that driver's side rear plug is a total wh0re, which I'm sure you guys already know. I'll reassemble it in a few, check everything over (again), reconnect the ECU, flash my RR map back on, and give it a go.. I'll give it another 10 mins before putting stuff back together. Cross your fingers for me

we're bay, fellas! Thanks for your help! Apparently, the fuel dripping off the plugs was the issue... I was freakin out, though, I must admit. Again, thanks for all your help!

Perhaps the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator has become disconnected (don't ask me how). If that were the case then the fuel line pressure would be relative to ambient pressure instead of the intake manifold's partial vacuum and you'd be injecting way too much fuel while starting the engine.
Edit: NVM, I see you're good now.

thanks, jon.. yeah, i was all over everything in the engine bay, trying to find anything that resembled an issue..
I guess it flooded when i moved it or something..
YAY, I'm so happy again LOL
