I was wondering If some one might be able to enplane what file I need to modify to be able to use the data logging function with the Subaru SSM port?I have built a serial to TTL level converter, and have been successful pulling the ROM image from the ECU. I know the commands to initilize the ECU for communication, as well as the addresses for the various parameters.
I have successfully made a basic definitions, and image file to view Fuel, Timing, and Timing Correction maps.
I apologize in advance if this is a novis question, but I am still a nob when it comes to Java.

I guess I should elaborate a little more on what it is im working with. Trying to use the data logging function with a 92-96 Subaru SVX. I have searched the forms, but have not been successful at finding any documentation about using just the ssm port for logging. Please any thoughts, comments, or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If someone is able, Pleas take a look at the attached document. It is the addressing parameters for the ecu, as well as the commands for interfacing the ecu. I am hoping this info will help in an accurate response

This info also corresponds with early model Legacy, and Imprezas models as well

The communication protocol is 1953 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, Even Parity and no flow control

If your serial-to-SSMport converter looks like the one at http://www.vwrx.com/index.php?pg=selectmonitor, then you can simply use his free software to view your live data. However, his software currently supports only a single front oxygen sensor, not the two which are present on the SVX. But I bet he'd be willing to update his program to support your ECU.

Other sources of SSM1 info and free scanning software are:
http://www.graphics.cornell.edu/~v/b10scan/index.html
http://www.alcyone.org.uk/ssm/

But maybe you were already familiar with those links.

Yes, I am familiar with all of these sites. I have a converter similar to all the converters on the pages listed above. My interest is in getting RomRaider's data logging to work with these vehicles so as to be able to make changes to the fuel and timing maps, burn them to a rom, and monitor the changes. All the programs out, dont really have the functionality to monitor from a tuning aspect.
RomRaider is a powerful program, and I would love to be able to utilize it for my application. I am willing to do all the leg work necessary to get it to function, just need to be pointed in the right direction.
Correct me if im wrong, but RomRaider has SSM monitoring already? Cant I modify a few of the communication files with my info, and get it to communicate? All I am really interested in is being able to view the fuel and timing maps in real time, or as close as I can get to accurately tune them.
Thanks in advance.
