I pulled the rom from my 2006 USDM Saab 9-2x 2.5i MT (which is really a USDM 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i MT). How do I look at the resulting .hex file and tell if it's already been submitted or if I need to send it to you all.

Step 1: Open in RomRaider
Step 2: Did it open? If so, disregard. Did it not open?
Step 3: Login to RomRaider forums and search for your ROM ID.
Step 4: If you find posts about your same ROM, subscribe.
Step 5: If you don't find posts, submit a new post and ask for defs.
Step 6: Wait patiently while Bill works his magic.

You can use a hex editor and look at 0x2000 for the cal id. Or if you're not sure how to do that, then just post up the rom. Being that it is an NA Subaru, it won't be currently supported by RomRaider but I am working on them for the next ecu definition release, so it is important that you get your request in soon in order for it to make the next update.

OK, at offset 0x2000, the string:
Code:
E2VH112C46VH4N Tier2 MT     Copr.DENSO2005 PF_23VHN_80M Ver.1.30r121ZCOM 1.10

appears. I had to type that in by hand since pasting it from the hex editor was making the BB software pitch a wobbly. In the hex editor, it's showing a . character between the 112C and the 46V that isn't pasting through, which is probably the illegal character the BB software dies on. Because of that, the actual hex for that string is:
Code:
45325648313132430034365648344E205469657232204D542020202020202020050804436F70722E44454E534F3230303520FFFF0000000050465F32335648344E5F38304D205665722E312E33307231000000000000000032315A434F4D20312E3130

So, step two, how much of that is the ROM ID and where do I look up if you already have it?
