Is there an area of this forum to post up your logs to have other, more experienced, people take a look at them?

I am reading and trying to learn. But at this point I just have no clue and have done some logging and would like others to see my data.

Just inherit the 06 sti rom and you'll be fine. Don't use Ecuflash to try to edit any tables though, as the 06 sti definitions will not be correct. Use RomRaider instead. However, when you go to flash, the 06 sti will contain the proper flash method (sti05) so flashing will not be affected.

i've heard different things on defining from scratch vs. inheriting... can anyone clarify once and for all what should be done for the 2007 so i dont break stuff?
i can read my rom fine via openecu and edit fine in RomRaider, but when i open the rom up in openecu again to flash it to my car i get the 'unknown rom image' window and it asks me what to do.

Ecuflash 1.32 includes RomRaider definitions so use that.

merchgod,

I have my tactrix connected, car is on, RomRaider is turned on and everything and the logger won't connect to my car. No parameters come up on the side either. I have the latest definitions added to the ECU Definitions Manager (if this is the right place for those). I've tried all the com ports in the list but nothing works.

My car connects however in Ecuflash, am I not doing something right in RomRaider?

the logger definitions are not added with the ecu definition manager, but that wouldn't have anything to do with connecting. When you have the logger up, try changing the com port from the drop down box.

I now went into my program files on my hard drive and replaced the existing logger file with the new updated on and over wrote it so I assume I'll be alright as far as that now.

I went through each com number a couple times (I'm sure I hit them all) and hit the green refresh button after each. Nothing cam up the top right still said connecting to ecu.

My tactrix works because the car is recognized in Ecuflash.

Unzip the logger def update and replace the existing logger.xml file in the RomRaider main directory. For ecu definitions, you can do the same thing (ecu_defs.xml) OR you can add the ecu definition with the ecu definition manager.

If you went through the com ports and got nothing, then you likely have a driver issue. Make sure you install Ecuflash which will install the drivers for the tactrix cable.

Ok I finally got it to work and did some logs. Everything worked fine now. I think the driver was the key for the cable, it installed automatically actually when the computer detected the cable.

I did logs and everything is fine, thanks for the speedy help merchgod.

In your HVAC controls, it is the leftmost of the three knobs. push the center button just as you would if your rear window was fogged up. This is why you can only log for 20 minutes. The deffogger is on a 20 minute timer. I think I read that they are going to allow you to turn log recording on and off using a keyboard function button in the next release. I assume you could record logs as long as you like then.
