I had previously been using Dyno-dynamics software but the STi's I had tuned had a very noisey electrical signals. I tried getting the guy who wrote it to custom write an app using RomRaider/ECUExplorer log files w/ no followthru on the project.

On Openecu.org I saw DataLogLab mentioned, found the free demo, downloaded it, played w/ it using my UTEC logs worked pretty good.

I wrote a custom definition for it for RomRaider's log files....attached.

please place in 'C:\Program Files\DataLogLab\Universal Data Log Formats', then load using Menu > Customize > Options > File Locations & Power Graph 'Tab' > 'Path & Filename of Universal Data Log Definition File', then click 'Load'.

Is it just using airflow or actually trying to calculate it based on acceleration rate and car mass?

How accurate is it? I got 188 hp @ 5344 and 195 ft/lb @ 4340 with a GM BCS and a stage 1 map.

the WRX definition file is incorrect, you need to change the Cd to 0.33 & the Frontal area to 22-26 ft^2(instead of 2)....

make sure the gear setting are correct for your model year as well.

Here is a 07 TR w/ full STG2(230whp/298wtq)

& the other one is a ubber conservative Super16G setup(259whp/258wtq), I tuned both of these.

by the 16G plot you can see that the software is consistant(not necessarily accurate) but consistant which is key for tuning.

double check you're car weight as well. Each model(02-03, 04-05, 06-07) all weight a little different. All the weights are posted on http://www.cars101.com , ignore their gear ratios listed many of them are incorrect.

Those are some nice graphs. Can't generate anything accurate with the 20 data points I get when logging. Anyone have a quick how to on how they created those graphs. I'm pretty sure I did it right, but my peak torque and power are at 6k. That just isn't right

only log RPM, you'll get much higher resolution(should have 200-300 datapoints)....log 3rd gear(w/ a 5 speed) from 2k to 7k rpm for a proper graph.

play w/ the smoothing as well....it seems to look the best between 10-15 w/o skewing the graph too much.

I'll probably get some good graphs of my car this afternoon or tomorrow.

here are all the WRX & STi car definition files if anyone wants them.

Please extract & place in 'C:\Program Files\DataLogLab\Car Definitions' then use the Power graph Edit> Car Definition to load them in.

Jeremy

NOTE: CORRECT YOUR TIRE SIZE IF YOU ARE NOT RUNNING WHAT IS IN THE CAR DEFINITION! IT DOES MAKE A SLIGHT DIFFERENCE.
