OK. I realize that this map is for a MT. I have a 4EAT and it doesn't appear that the revision is available for this. Now questions:
1) Is this revision/map the equivalent of a stage 1 type map?
2) Can I use the values in this map and "copy" them to a saved version of my stock ECU ROM?
3) How do I know if my stock ROM is 160K or 192K?
4) How do I know if the A4TF520F map is 160K or 192K?
5) If I transfer the values from a MT map to a Auto map, will it be compatible?
6) How do I stop my eyes from bleeding from reading all this stuff?
Thanks for any advice!

You didnt attach anything, so that definately wont work lol.
Ok, you need the auto map or its not gonna shift. And it will throw all sorts of codes since the tranny harness is different.
You can copy anything you want from the MT to the AT map, thats all the same more or less.
Some of my maps are 192k, some are 160k. It depends on which program saved it last, as long as you have the right revision for your ECU its all good. And if you modify your stock base rom you cant go wrong.
Turn the brightness down and the contrast up on your monitor and your eyes wont hurt as bad lol

I haven't figured out how to attach maps yet, or have I tried. I figure that knowledge will come along as well hopefully. I'm basically practicing at the moment in preparation for recieving the cable this weekend, hopefully (UPS I'm talking to you)
I understand that you wouldn't want to flash a map specific for a MT into an automatic car, that makes sense. Since the map (A4TF520F) is the only revision available, can I work with that? So, If I download my Stock ECU ROM, obviously save a copy in a safe place, and make a copy to alter, can I take the values from the A4TF520"F" map and sort of "make it into" a A4TF520"E" map? Will that provide me any benefits? The whole 160K, 192K image size thing is still confusing to me. If I flash a 160K ROM into an ECU set up for 192K, what will happen? Will my sube spontaneously combust?
Oh, and the bleeding has seemed to have stopped for the moment. It appears that the blood is originating inside my skull from my brain being tied into a knot and leaking from my ocular oriface. Its quite embarassing.

I've downloaded the A4TF520F from scoobypedia and I can't open it. It says its a .tar file? It won't open in RomRaider or in ecuflash what should I do? I just want to look at the map to compare it to the stock A4TF400E map.

.tar is a zipped archive. You need to download winrar(or equivilant) to unzip the file(s).

I've looked all over the place and am trying to find a free program to unzip .Tar files. Any ideas?? When they are unzipped are they unzipped into .hex or another format?

Winzip, or 7-zip should do the trick for you.

man, I'm not sure if this is a user related issue, probably is, but I downloaded 7-zip and still can't get it to extract the .tar file so I can open it in RomRaider. I'll keep trying

Here you go, this is the stock ROM. Another place to download ROM's is osecuroms.org, you need to register to see them.

Heh, thanks for the re-upload. Come to find out the original file that we had problems with was fine after all...
It wasn't a TAR to begin with! It's extension was just incorrect. The file opens properly in ecuflash.
Did you edit the page to link to this new, properly named, version?
