You can put a 2002 USDM WRX map on a 2003 USDM WRX w/o issue. You cannot put a 2003 USDM WRX Map on a 2002 USDM WRX w/o disabling a fuel sensor CEL.

just loaded this onto a WRX right before a dyno day at Speed Industry in Troy, MI. Their dyno is known to read low numbers, its been nicknamed "the heartbreaker" but the WRX I put this on made good numbers.

Mods on the WRX:
CCI Stage 2 clutch
CCI 12lb flywheel
HKS (non-bellmouth) 3" downpipe
Scoobysport 2.5" exhaust
Prodrive uppipe

car made 206whp/203wtq

the boost was actually 2psi lower then target setting because an exhaust leak surfaced (up pipe) which is where I believe we lost the 2psi, as well as a loose vac fitting.

but in the end, tune proved to be good, data logs look good, and overall a very good base map for such mod equipped cars.

Here are attached data logs from the 3 pulls. All number will be pretty close as no tuning was performed between pulls.

Glad to see someone posting up some logs/numbers from the map. The timing definitely needs to be reduced in a few places, seems as though our 93 locally is a bit better than some others. I'm remote tuning a guy in Missouri starting with this base map & I've had to reduce the timing as well in similar area to where this one needs reduced. I'll end posting up a revision to the map based on his car.

edit: a 2002 USDM WRX Map will work on a 2003 USDM WRX w/o any issues. Also you need to tighten wastegate arm around 2 turns in order to hit target boost.

Is the wastegate adjustment required to acheive target boost in both the 02 and o3 or just the 03?

TnX...

In my experience both MYs require it.

OK, thanks...

I am new to the tuning/electronic management aspect so am doing my research before attempting any re-flashing.

I bought my car from a dealer who had put a 3" catless exhaust on it and had a guy do a stg2 re-flash (generic)...all based on the tuner's recommendation so it wasn't something he just came up with on his own but was guided by the tuner.....I have e-mailed the tuner and talked to the dealer and neither mentioned having adjusted the wastegate so I am wondering if my re-flash's increased boost levels might be limited due to the wastegate having not been "opened" up to allow for it......

I have since added a short ram intake and gutted the up-pipe with plans for EL headers in my future before any further re-flashes....

Would it adversely affect anything if I adjusted the wastegate a couple of turns....if by chance it had already been adjusted (making it about 4 turns out)???

haha, hi Les I just PM'd you back on STLSubaru. However I wouldn't adjust the wastegate just yet on your car since it already been flashed with another map until you do some logs and send back to. We may then adjust the wastegate or not.

Alright. I have the software on my laptop but don't have the cable and flash adapter for my 02 wagon, yet...a local Scoob owner has one he has offered to let me use....

So I flashed this map last week and here are some logs. I would be happy someone on here will give me some input.
Here are my mods thus far.

03 WRX MT
AEM Short ram intake
UL Headers
Up pipe catless
3 in Bell mouth ERZ DP catless
3 in Megan racing catback

I also turned the wastgate arm in to bring it in some. 2 turns to be exact.

Here is one from today raining alot and soaked out and a 3rd gear pull. Which is the file from the 9 28

And the other is from 9 24
Seems to be running good and pulls really hard compared to the stock!!!!
Thanks Rob

Jeremy (testes1010) should be along and pick up on this...since it is his thread and the original map is of his design and refinement. He has been working with me on my car and I am still nowhere near a engine management tuner but I have defiantly learned a lot from him thru this ongoing process.

BTW, Jeremy, should I post my log on here when we get it where it needs to be??

MBC should be here Wed afternoon but I am working so will probably be Friday morning before I can get it on...can you e-mail with specifics about how to set it?

Thanks Rob

There's seem to be a little FBKC, please log the following:

Engine Speed (rpm)
Primary Wastegate Duty Cycle (%)
Manifold Relative Pressure (Corrected) (psi)
Ignition Base Timing* (degrees)
Knock Correction Advance (degrees)
A/F Learning #1 (%)
A/F Sensor #1 (AFR)
Mass Airflow (g/s)
Engine Load (2-byte)** (g/rev)

Flashed it last night and huge difference between this and my stock map. Been stage 2 minus the map for 50k miles. Just never had the time or the money to get it done till now. I will never do that again after feeling the difference with this map.

Still logging btw. Hard to find a road where i can do back to back 3rd gear pulls. Man does it pull!!
