OS: Windows XP on a Gateway Model No. MA6
Java Version: Ver. 6 Update 7 (1.6.0_07-b06)
RR version: 0.5.1 beta
ECUFlash version: 1.35.1650 (installed today, described problem after install)

I just DL and installed the latest ECUFlash (with the latest tactrix drivers it said) and now when i launch the RR logger, i cannot connect to the ECU (ECUFlash still seems to work, i pulled and flashed a rom with no apparant problems/errors). When i plug the tactrix cable into the USB port, i get a "Found new hardware" pop up from windows and when i go to install it, it says that it cannot find a better driver than i already have installed. But after i say "OK" i get a "your new hardware might not work properly" pop up from windows. And when i go to the device manager, it shows OpenPort 1.3 with a "!" so its not working correctly. It says I need to reinstall the driver (which mean reinstalling ECUFlash in my case, since they are bundled) and the same thing happens when i do that. Before, i had to select COM4 from the drop down list in the logger, now there is only COM3. So i suspect it is a driver issue. any ideas or known fixes. if not, where can I get the previous version of ECUFlash so i can try to roll back ECUFlash and the bundled tactrix drivers with it and see if it solves the problem. thanks.

I did that, didnt work. so i uninstalled ECUFlash again and then uninstalled the faulty driver in device manager. then i reinstalled ECUFlash. After it prompted me again about finding new hardware i selected to select the location of the driver for it. same thing, it said it couldnt find a better driver than was already installed, yada yada. Sooo, the next time i went into device manager and reinstalled the driver but selected the "have disk" option for finding the driver file and then pointed it to the actual file itself and not just the x86 folder. the first time i selected the "ftdiport" file and it made it so RR didnt recognize any ports, so i tried the "ftdibus" file and bingo, it worked. It still only gives me COM3 on the port list in the RR logger, but that port works to connect now. thanks for the help, Merchgod. def pointed me in the right direction. hope this might help someone else, too.

RR seems to have become more efficient or faster, too. my sample rate has increased and i can visually see that the data is refreshed much faster on the dashboard view.

This worked for me.Just make sure the Tactrix is plugged in first and under the view tab in device manager select "show hidden devices"
