2007 LGT specB and I used to be able to log with enginuity sporadically at best...it would find the ECU, allow a couple of logs and then spaz between reading and not being able to find the ECU. Then it just flips me off and says it can't find the ECU.
So I upgraded my laptop with more RAM. That didn't help.
I un & reinstalled programs and drivers. That didn't help.
I bought a newER laptop and upgraded RAM from the get go. That didn't help.
I updated Java and downloaded RomRaider. Now it won't even find my ECU.
I just want to log. That's it. I got the pretty little blue OBD2 <--> USB cord off AutoNostics on eBay that people suggested on LGT.com, have an IBM thinkpad R51 with 2 USB 2.0 ports, 2GB ram, 33GB HDD, 1.6Ghz on the clock....I think I've got the computing power to handle logging

.
Why, oh why won't this work?
EDIT: oh yeah, the laptop is DEDICATED for this purpose alone....so there are no games no other apps (except office, adobe reader, java, anti-virus and firewall)
and yes, I've futzed around with the cable settings to see if there is any improvement. nothing.
