wow... as for getting the address and name is not that difficult. However, unless they had a court order, whom ever provided that info did a big no-no. (I am going on the premise that it was done this way – IP was logged in the original post – most boards do that – then the IP was traced to the ISP, the ISP knows who (account holder) that IP was assigned to at any given time… ) but the ISP should not give that info out. (confidentiality laws) (disclaimer here, I do not live in US, so I may be wrong on that).

Or someone knows your screen anme and they know SOA people, and they just told them…

either way ... wow

I doubt it was that elaborate. I've long posted my cars, a 2002 WRX and a 2006 Legacy spec.B, as part of my profile at NASIOC. All McHale had to do was ask his resident DB SQL expert to spit out the number of owners with such cars bought in CT whose owner's first name was Jon.

BTW, I am fairly certain that 99% of the posts from SOA Blog are actually from Michael McHale. And he likes to use initials for people in his posts. It might freak him out, a little, if people at NASIOC referred to him there as MM, instead of SOA Blog. :)

Ya know, if I had a company that did millions in sales every year, the last thing I would be doing is emailing out newsletters with trade secrets in it to thousands of poorly paid employees. Hell I have a company that does thousands in sales every year, and I never mention what I am going to do next publicly. I might get scooped.

Now that I said that, I'm erasing my name from the web so SOA doesn't harass me. (dons tinfoil hat)

You're a prick sometimes Jon, and you've obviously stepped on some toes. Being a prick is an important personality characteristic though. Keep up the good work ;) I have much to learn from you.

Now you see why I dont post much anymore. It seems the closer you get to being knowledgable about the subaru company and its cars, the bigger "prick" you are, according to the mods at nasioc. And therefore you should be warned and banned if you actually have any truthful or accurate information to post.

We are all pricks (well nice ones though, if there is such a thing lol). Have you seen our posts? ;)

It may have to do with the fact that we are technical people and when doing work our emails are short and to the point which makes us sound like assholes. Otherwise information is confused. I try not to take offense at any technical post response these days.

I never had a problem in the tech forum though.

I think its less that technical people sound like assholes and more that such people pose an alpha geek threat that the egos that drive the mods don't like.

Seriously, what pathetic lowlife decides to be a mod in the first place?! ;)
