Oh I got flow report back on the stock injectors. #3 was the lowest flowing injector. Surprise! !not

Quote:
Gabe,

Got your cores in and had a chance to test them. Attached is the testing results. The #3 injector, same one that you marked as suspect, did flow slightly less but nothing that under normal conditions would cause any problems. It is not listed on the testing sheet, but also tested them at a couple different IDC’s and all appeared normal. In our opinion the injectors would not have caused any problems

Let me know if you have any questions

Thanks

Mike Deatsch

Obviously I was pushing the limits, but yeah #3 killed it with that bubble and running lean too much (because of the injector).

Still within manufacturing specs though. You can imagine what it does when you are right at the limit of AFR's and timing like I was pushing it. The lowest fuel flowing cylinder went. :/

Ok dumb question. Is there any alternative to Fuji bond or Dow Cornng's 7038 for the gasket maker? Should I just order the Fuji Bond? I know that permatex or someone other than Dow has to make block sealant that I can just pick up at an auto parts store.

I have all the $$$ to rebuild it now. Ordering pistons and gaskets today. :D

also if not too late fuji bond is junk dont mess with it. Ive always just used permatex never once had a problem. the fuji stuff doesnt like too dry real well accutally when there was a recall on the parking prawls they sent fuji bond to do the recall. and i must say everyone of those cars it seem that comes back in for whatever is leaking jus a little bit from the trany pan so if it were me use p[ermatex

Not to get to off topic but since you guys are discussing Fuji bond, I like the Honda Bond alot better its pretty much the same thing but Thicker and doesnt dry out and flake off.

Fujibond will be here tuesday.
Gasket set and pistons will be here tuesday.
Hoses and clamps will arrive before friday.
Rebuild has started.

Pics:

I ported the 2nd TGV so much better, I had to touch up the first:

Intake manifold started assembly. Samco hoses all around (except ancillary - the stock MAF hose is being replaced):

To reseal the block?

The service manual calls for Three Bond 1217B for the Auto tranny pan. It only calls for Three Bond 1215B (a different sealant) on the 6MT Tranny and the block.

that stuff works great, used it for my vans transmission pan and it sealed up great, no leaks whatsoever (even with two missing bolts).
