- Flashing: Replacing the software on the ECU with data from a file on your computer. This is always done with the engine off, and usually with the engine in a ‘test mode.’
- Logging: Recording the ECU’s internal parameters and/or sensor data to a file on your computer, as you drive. The resulting log files can be studied later to evaluate the tune.
- Reading: Copying the ECU’s software to a file on your computer. Like flashing, this is always done with the engine off, and usually with the engine in ‘test mode.’
